Love this, Nina! In my first 3 days alone in London—right when this was sent—I received 2 rejections with quite a bit of sting (I had put months into vying for them). As I'm dusting myself off, this helped!
I am so happy to hear this helped — and so sorry about the rejections! You're absolutely brilliant and the key is too keep going, in my experience. Always cheering you on.
This is as inspiring as you’d hoped, Nina. It’s worth pulling the curtain back to look behind the scenes of success. I hadn’t associated that with my own piece about my father and messy art studios until I got to my name in your piece. But you’re right that there’s something similar in the attitude of perseverance, whatever that looks like. So congrats for keeping at it! We all benefit. (And thanks for the mention. I wish now I had titled my post “Be Not Perfect”….😁)

Thank you Nina—it's great to be reminded of this trio of essential qualities, and you embody them all in your writing life and in this piece. Bravo!
The highest praise — thanks so much, Jennifer!

Ahh, thank you so much, Victoria — I adored your newsletter (and indeed am loving them all)! Here's to perseverance (cheers)...
